Sarasota Powerboat Grand Prix Announces CBS Sports Television Coverage

With Hotelplanner.com as its title sponsor, the Sarasota Powerboat Grand Prix July 1 will be covered by CBS Sports, will which produce and air one-hour post event television program on the 34th annual event in South Florida. The program airs July 22 at 4 p.m. (EST) in all 50 states, and will reach an estimated 65 million households, according to a press release from the event organizers.

The TV show will air a second time, but the encore air has yet to be announced.

In addition, an hour-long program covering personal watercraft AquaX races, as well as a 30-minute minute program featuring the P1 SuperStock Class will be aired post-event on Fox Sports Florida. (Dates for those shows have been released.)

The weeklong Sarasota Powerboat Grand Prix Festival is produced Suncoast Charities for Children. Last year’s event generated $37 million in economic impact for the area and more than $100,000 for the charity, the according to the press release.

Presenting sponsors for the HotelPlanner Sarasota Powerboat Grand Prix Festival include Visit Sarasota and Sarasota County, according to the release. Major Sponsors include Budweiser, the City of Sarasota, Sarasota Ford, Ocean Properties, FCCI Insurance, and Hyatt Regency Sarasota.
